The Albatros B.II had been in service at the Army Company since 1914 and had got a good reputation. When the Navy searched for a suitable aircraft for its flying school at Hägernäs, the choice fell on the Albatros.

The Navy purchased five second-hand from Germany with deliveries from 1919 to 1922. They were all fitted with 120 hp Mercedes engines.

The Navy had never access to any air-field at shore. The Albatroses were used as trainers in the winter time, fitted with skis and staring and landing on the ice.  They were never fitted with any floats.

Three airframes were transferred to the new Air Force in 1926. The new designation was Sk 1. Sk = ”Skolflygplan” (Trainer).

Length: 7,80 m. Span:13,10 m. MTOW 1.092 kg. Max. speed: 115 km/h.
