  Litslena Church, Uppland

Litslena is a parish in the municipality of Enköping. Litslena church is situated where the old main road between Stockholm and Enköping crossed the road to Uppsala. This crossroads was early an important marketplace. The stone church stems from the 12th century. Parts of the original wall are conserved. The vault has beautiful al fresco paintings from the 15th century which have been restored with unusually well-preserved colours.

The christening font is from the 12th century.
The magnificent altar triptych is from the 15th century.

Litslena belongs to the Diocese of Uppsala, the County of Uppsala and the Province of Uppland. Photo: Lars Henriksson, 15th of July, 2008.
